The primary goal of the LDHOA is to manage the common areas or "open space".  This includes providing liability insurance, mowing, maintenance, and oversight of the use of such spaces.  In addition, the association enforces the restrictions and covenants contained in the deeds of dedication for property included in the LDHOA.  The LDHOA is not a policing organization and encourages homeowners to contact local law enforcement or county officials to settle disputes involving Frederick County ordinances.

The LDHOA board continues to work on several goals for 2010.  They include:

  • updating of the LDHOA bylaws

  • more consistent enforcement of LDHOA restrictions and covenants and the development of a fine structure for violations.

  • improved communication between the board and homeowners.

  • improved communication with area real estate agents.

  • quicker response times and better documentation and tracking of homeowner complaints.
